Basel airport is one of the worst airports in Europe, which is some achievement, given how bad most of them are.
As you enter the complex there’s no indication as to where you should go and the staff aren’t particularly helpful.
As for security, they appear to be a law onto themselves. If you are traveling with hand luggage only, don’t bother to buy any chocolate or mustard to take home. The stroppy cow we had to deal with decided to define them as `liquids’ and promptly grabbed the lot, no doubt to stuff into her own fat face when no one was around to see! (She backed away from the stinky cheese I had bought, even though it was a lot runnier than any of the chocolate we had with us. That apparently didn’t constitute being a liquid).
In keeping with all airports `Duty Free’ is a nonsense, when the prices are twice, sometimes three times that of the high street. It’s a racket that should have been stamped on years ago but yet it still persists.
