Marsden Rock, South Shields? Chip shop restaurant! My mother was born in South Shields - I think it was in Thames Lane.

Just a note that I think you’d love Chouette, and hope you’ll read it. I’ve had conversations with the author about her daughter (I met her through Goodreads reading groups), since my daughter is also neurodiverse. The book is really about love of a child, the struggles of motherhood, about working to understand someone so different from yourself, and over not knowing how best to care for them. And I never felt uncomfortable with her treatment of disability. It’s a truly beautiful book, one of my favorites of the year.

Love you videos and I think the wig is awesome and you should keep the length. Watching your videos have spurred me to really read again for myself and not for a purpose! Thank you!!!

I studied Notes on a Scandal in my first year of university in a contemporary fiction module and I really liked it too. Ooh Nightshift seems great.

I had a hard Monday too & this is just lovely & comforting ☺️💕

Such a lovely video, Jen! You look so fabulous in the wig! Your videos are a comfort. I’m currently struggling with a few personal things and your videos are a balm. Thank you for all you do! Happy reading! 🥰📚

Love the mermaid wig!! suits you well. why didn't you wear your mermaid necklace too? and I read the description of The Marsh House, it immediately reminded me of the film/book When Marnie was There - the setting, the ghost story atmosphere, the suspense, the mysterious house, the two women separated by decades, tense relationship between mother daughter, the diary of the girl who lived in the house years before...and I'm also intrigued by Eartheater, I've added both to my list! 💖

I finished *Elena Knows* Wow. Just wow. Very powerful. Great find Jen! As I was reading this story I was remembering so many of my Uncle’s stories as he struggled with Parkinson’s and I was a caregiver. But Pineiro’s book is different from ours as it is a story of women too. I’m curious to hear how you like her crime fiction.

Ooh! I absolutely loved the Appeal and raced through it so fast, in one day, so I'll be interested to see what you think!

Hi Jen, I think you would love the books of Rivers Solomon. Their book The Deep is a novella about mermaids who were the desendants of African Slave women who were tossed overboard. This novella is about the importance of community and memories and shaping the future. It also has queer themes.

Fabulous haul as ever Jen.I hadn't heard of many of those books- the obvious ones really - I've bought The Appeal and Chouette, because French in translation always appeals. I'm most intrigued by Recovering Dorothy and Artificial Divide, and maybe Nightshift.
