Meet three University of Iowa Health Care physicians who are committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive health care for the LGBTQ community.

In this video, Dr. Katherine Imborek (08MD, 11R), Dr. Nicole Nisly (93R), and Dr. Amy Pearlman talk about the inception of the LGBTQ clinic at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics – and how it was the first in the state to offer this caliber of care for the lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, and questioning population. Today, it is one of only a few comprehensive multi-disciplinary clinics in the country.

Named an LGBTQ health care equality leader by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the clinic provides a safe environment for patients in need of everything from routine health screenings to hormone therapy to gender-affirming surgery.

Chat from the Old Cap is a series of virtual engagement sessions featuring Iowa alumni and friends sharing stories from their careers, backgrounds, and the university that unites us.
