Chevy's had a hold on the truck game for a long time, but now, it has eyes on the compact-car market. The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was completely redesigned this year, and we have five reasons it could be right up your alley.
Room to Roam
Yes, it's technically a compact car, but you wouldn't know it from the inside. The Cruze has midsize-car-type room and more than sufficient legroom, thanks to Chevy extending the wheelbase and the overall length. Not to mention, the base trim level offers a roomy 14.8-cu ft. trunk.
Fancy Features
Coming standard on the Cruze are 15-inch wheels, a rearview camera and Bluetooth. You can really dial it up as the LT trim level has LEDs, optional heated front seats and a sunroof. We like the top-of-the-line Premier trim level, which you can get with heated rear seats and a premium Bose sound system.
Super Savings
You can step into a Cruze for fewer than $17,000, which is less than most competitors. Even the LS automatic trim level starts under $20,000. When you consider its efficiency, space and premium features, the Cruze is a guaranteed good deal.
Excellent Efficiency
Lighter and leaner than before, the Cruze is also aerodynamically designed for efficiency. It returns a remarkable 41 miles per gallon on the highway with the manual and 42 mpg hwy with the automatic. The Premier trim level sees 40 mpg hwy. All around, these are hybrid-type numbers, which is impressive.
Ready for the Road
Chevy gave the Cruze some cool engine options, including a diesel trim level and Cruze Eco. Rest assured, they all provide excellent ride quality. They're all smart, efficient engine choices that don't sacrifice performance.
Autotrader Says
Roomy, affordable and efficient. What more can you ask for? Step outside the box of Toyota Corollas and Honda Civics, and step into a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze.

I just picked up a 2017 Cruze LS for $15, 345. It comes standard with a back up camera and I'm getting over 34 mpg, combined city and highway. It's more car for the money, u really can't beat it

Anyone ever notice that all the Honda fanboys come on other manufacturers videos to complain and troll? If they were so confident, then why come on the video reviews and create division and run the mouth? It's because in real life they would never talk like that or say those things to other people's faces, so they use YouTube videos to express their own insecurities. Now with that being said, I happen to like most of the offerings from basically all the manufacturers, everyone of them has something different and unique to offer, and vehicles now a days are far more reliable. This car is very nice, its definitely better than the former. Not one car out there is perfect, anyone of us could nitpick. Rule to thumb, ALL vehicles are made to last ten years! It does not matter from what manufacturer it comes from, ask any honest mechanic, or anyone with knowledge about how ALL vehicles are built. Anything else is an excuse period.

I love this car! This will be my next new car I will be buying over the next two years, the Chevrolet Cruze. I bought a new Chevrolet Cobalt in 2010 and I still love that car. The Cruze will definitely be my next car I buy.

I just bought a 2018 Hatch RS with 6 speed manual Transmission and couldn't be happier. I looked AND road tested Mazda 3, Honda Civic and this Cruze is better than all of them. I'm very very happy with my acquisition. Honda fanboys are just potty trap kids.

I wish my Mazda 3 had this engine. The torque from the turbo makes a difference for sure.

Agreed. No shame in the Cruze if shopping this segment. The previous generation had faulty PCV valves built into cam covers. I read they fixed that issue..Chevy hopes as it caused black dots in consumer reports reviews.

I thought buying the 2016 Chevy Cruze would be a good car for me. But the car didn't have a cruise control device on it!!! I called the Chevrolet corporate office about it and talked to them why there was no cruise device. They didn't even know why either!!!
I have painful back problems when I drive a long distance. All the cars I've had...had cruise control, even my 2002 Ford Focus!!! What a stupid thing that Chevrolet did this to the Chevy Cruze... Ironic huh? No cruise control and it's named "Cruze". And the stupid car salesman didn't tell me about not having the device in the car... he didn't know either... he just laughed at me.😡

1 reason not to buy: cracking pistons. Set and match.

Number one reason to not to buy this pedal sits higher than accelerator. Buying this is a suicide.

How come this car looks downright cheap compare to the new civic. Interior and exterior period.
