Estimating the manpower requirements:- staffing process begins with the estimating of manpower requirements which means finding out number of employees na type of employees needed by the organisation in near future.

2. Recruitment:- it refer to process of inducing the people to apply for the job in the organisation. To recruit from outside the organisation contact various placement consultants, employees exchange, contractors etc. But the most common way to recruit fresh talent is through advertisement. Company advertises in newspapers. many job seeker after reading the advertisement apply for the job.
Selection:- it refer to choosing the most suitable candidate to fill the vacant job position. The selection is done through a process, which involves test, interview etc.
In selection number of selected candidates is less then the number of rejected candidates that's why selection is called negative process.
4. Placement and orientation :- it refers to occupying of post by The candidate for which he is selected.
Orientation:- it refer to introduction of new employees to The existing employees large organisation organise orientation programmes to familiarise the new employees with existing employees.

Methods of External Source of Recruitment :–

1) Direct Recruitment :— Sometimes the organisation paste a notice at the gate of their organisation or factory stating the vacant of position.

2) Casual Callers :— Sometimes the application of suitable candidates who were not selected in previous years are kept in application file (waiting list) whenever there is a job vacancy the suitable candidate from the waiting list are called.

3) Advertising :— The most common and popular method of external recruitment is advertising about the vacant job position.

4) Employment Exchanges :— Government employment exchange is act as a middle man between job seekers and the organisation who have vacant job position.

5) Placement Agencies and Management Consultant :— Placement agencies provide nation wide services of matching demand and supply of workforce. These agencies invite the bio–data and record from various job seekers and send them to suitable clients. These agencies charge fees for providing such services.

6) Campus Recruitment :— Sometimes the senior manager of the organisation visit various professional colleges, technical institute to get fresh graduates or the people with the latest technological knowledge. The organisation prefer fresh graduates because they can be molded according to the requirement of the organisation.

7) Recommandation of Employees:— Employees of organisation recommend the names of their friends relative and neighbours which prove to be a good source of external source of recruitment.

8) Labour Contractor :— They maintain close contacts with labours and they can provide large number of workers at short note.

9) Web Publishing :— Internet is becoming a common source of recruitment these days. There are many websites like naukri.com, monster.com, etc provide information to both job seekers and employers.

10) Advertising on Television :— They telecast on various channels recording the vacant of position along with the qualifications necessary to apply.
