Why not wrap the gravel? Wont the dirt mix with the gravel over time?

Question....
When putting French drain pipe (perforated) in the same trench with solid pipe (for basin or downspout drainage), is there specific placement for the pipes in the trench such as side by side or one on top of the other? Does it matter?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Chuck.. I'm doing a footer tile on one side of my house as I finished repairing the parge and pitch coat. Problem is that I can't run this to day light. Theres also a downspout drain that's about one foot higher that I have to replace as it has years of roots. That can run to daylight but I do not see it's discharge, so I'm assuming it runs to a sewage pipe. Hate to have to run this across the lawn and breakup the new driveway cause that's where the drain is. Any ideas or do I need a sump pump which id like to avoid. Thanks in advance
