I'm late but to fix the fingerprint you need to put on touch sensitivity, register fingerprint by pressing hard on the screen, the take of touch sensitivity.

Also for some people, like me, the december update did fix the fingerprint.

But I don't have any problem in registering my fingerprint in my a50

November update broke mine all together .

Cleared fingerprints then couldn't register them at all .
Factory reset, cleared cache in recovery .
Nothing worked until I did a soft reboot then for some strange reason it stated working again .

It January and my phone didn't even receive the December update why is that and is this happening to anyone else?

Also a little hack I've learned while having my a50 for a everyday user and when I get cold sometimes my skin will get a little dry lol and I swear it makes a difference and this may sound strange but if it's not recognizing your finger in this case try licking your finger and then wiping it off and your phone will unlock like a breeze👌

Bro, in the november update itself my fingerprint worked fine.and i updated to this december patch. No issues with fingerprint..may be you need to visit a service center..

I DIDN'T NOTICE ANY ISSUE REGARDING FINGERPRINT. BUT THE FINGERPRINT SENSOR IS NOW MORE OPTIMIZED NOW.
HERE COMES THE TWIST...
WHEN I WAS PLAYING PUBG ON ULTRA HD GRAPHIC WITH ULTRA HIGH FRAME RATE SETTINGS... I NOTICE A FRAME DROP THAT KEEPS FOR 2 TO 3 SECONDS.

APART FROM THIS ALL OTHER APP AND PERFORMANCE IS STILL QUITE GOOD.

BONUS: FACE UNLOCK IS NOW IMPROVED.

When nothing could help me on the Internet I tried to find the solution by myself and I got one.
Hey peeps, This might work for you as it worked for me.
Try to Register your thumb by pointing your thumb to downward and upward direction only. Like at 0° and 90° angle but gently.
I could be able to Register my both thumbs by just pointing my thumb towards upward and downward direction in the sequence, as my percentage went up.
Note: don't press again and again in one direction if you get "make sure your finger covers the entire surface" message. And use your finger in these two directions only, sequentially. Don't press too hard and make sure your impressions on finger are clean and visible, there should be no cut mark on
Impressions.
Please Don't get mad at me if that doesn't work for you. It worked for me 8/10 times. And after registering my thumbs this way, my fingerprint sensor is working like charm. No more "No match" error while unlocking.
I'd be happy to assist if anybody needed further.

How can update to the most latest one. I'm still on the may update. And the only available update I have is the july. Do I really have to update what is the available patch for my A50. I'm afraid that there will be no more update coming for my phone after I update to the July patch.

After watching previous video I didn't updated mine. Now after watching this one, I didn't wanted to update this time also. Then I come to know that, everyone is not facing this problem after reading those comments. Then I give it a try and updated. First it wasn't working. Then I removed my screen protector. And it worked... ❤

Successfully registered my Fingerprint sensor in my mobile after updated the Dec software update. It took time for me to do after several times I tried and upto 47% only taken the fingerprint registration.
After restart my mobile one time manually I done and just make sure that the screen should not be wet or oily and just cleaned it. After done these steps taken just casually registered my fingerprint to my mobile and 100% successfully registered.
Now I can see slight improvement fast response in my fingerprint sensor however not a huge difference.
Screen shot option they gave now very nice and helpful. I can see little difference in Camera quality as well.

Overall pretty good update however not a excellent one due to challenges faced to registerd fingerprint sensor. Thanks.

All A50 users are doing wrong ... Guys pls look that animation how to reg ur fingrprint..im also an A50 user..aftr the update i tried to reg .but i cant..aftr i just looked what that animations showing when u r reg ur finherprint...its very simple guys....100% worked...
First u press ur top center portion of ur thumb.aftr the 2nd impression should use ur left side of thumb..aftr right side..then 1 cycle complete..agian press ur top cntre portion, left side and rght side...very easy guys... 100% workd... Just watch that animation when u r going to reg ur thumb....

I updated my a50 a couple of weeks ago with Samsung's December patch and honestly I'm not having the issues your having in this video my friend. The only issue I've had with registering my fingerprint on my a50 is that I'll get a on screen message window pop up in the middle of me setting up whatever finger saying "make sure screen is clean and dry and try again" then I have to start over but I am using a tempered glass screen protector so this may play a role but idk. In the end tho after the update I removed all fingerprints and started fresh and I had my left and right thumb registered within minutes👍

Guys try this under settings search for "touch sensitivity " enable it. Then restart your phone. And try calibrating again.

It worked for me. 👍
