5:22 as a teenager who has lived in china for 5 years, having to submit your id and face scan is in part due to chinese kids playing too much, so they passed a law for the “实名认证” system that basically checks if you are 18+ or not. iirc the rule for non 18+ people is that you can play for one hour on friday evening and on holidays. THATS IT. many people bypassed it by simply asking parents to do the submission, or just side loading a game available internationally via a vpn or knowing where to look. also the government is probably using the data for more but whatever

It’s really interesting to see the Chinese versions of games, it’s like looking into an alternate reality. Though looking more into the Chinese version of Minecraft, it seems that Apocalypse Mode is actually from a mod that had a trailer made for it so English-speaking people thought it was official. From what I’ve seen it seems to be mostly similar to our Minecraft except free to play stuff.

I understand why Adventure exists now, but I’m still bummed that with as popular as it is there’s no sign of a similar update for anyone outside of China. I can only assume it’s because of the licensing issues, a real shame.

The chinese version is what could've been. It makes me want to get back into the game and all but the global release doesn't have the complete pokedex and I don't think that'll be done for the foreseeable future which sucks.

Great to see Quest getting some love!! It was the first Pokémon game for Switch, it deserves it haha hope Pokémon Company see the potential the game has and bring more updates worldwide.. The chinese version looks really cool, loved the special themed Pokémon

Been aware of the Chinese version of Pokémon Quest for quite some time and always been sad we never the expanded version over here, though I understand why it's a shame because I really enjoyed Quest and was hoping they'd do more with it.
