The Wages of Sin is Death

Romans 6:23 states that the wages, or payment for sin is death. From that day when sin entered the world, all people would age and die, returning to the same ground from which Adam had been made.(Genesis 3:19) After physical death, the Bible says each person will be judged by God.(Hebrews 9:27) If someone were to die with the condemnation of their sins upon them, they would be separated from God forever. Adam and Eve had chosen to obey Satan. Because of this, they were in danger of facing the same destiny as Satan: eternal death in the Lake of Fire.
