Julia Morley's research investigates the way we measure success in the social sector. Why has social impact become an increasingly prevalent measure of success? How can we be sure it is conceptually justified and correctly applied by social sector organisations? And how might the use of social impact measurement affect staff? In this film, Dr Morley examines the rise of social impact reporting and argues that a group of individuals working in social investment – many of whom have a background in finance – are driving this change.

Soooo, , um, what's being said here is people working for the greater good (those employed by charities, for example) might not appreciate (what they might interpret as) gaslighting by "new-speak" people (who are brought into their organizations for the purpose of measurement). Is that the statement being made here? And if so, what's the argument? "Get your degree from us" because it will underpin the "success" of your future in the environment you want to be working in? No offense is intended by me with this question. I'm just curious because confusion precedes curiosity; in my case anyways. ✌️😎🍁
