Preservation of Balinese literature, script and language as a gateway to ensure the sustainability of Balinese civilization 🙏🏻

Nyurat lontar is one of the hereditary traditions of the Balinese people that has been passed down for hundreds and even thousands of years. This tradition is still carried out today by literary and spiritual experts along with traditional, cultural, and religious figures. In Bali in particular, many important documents are written on lontar, such as Weda (Hindu scriptures), regarding religion, this includes awig-awig, wariga, itihasa, babad, tantri (satua) and lelampahan.

The culture of reading lontar, writing, and
painting in lontar is currently much loved by the younger generations in Bali, which is very
encouraging as it supports the effort to
maintain Balinese customs and culture.
