The HISTORY Channel’s hit survival series “Alone” is back like never before and taking place in the most dangerous location yet. In Season 8, 10 contestants fight to survive in the Canadian wilderness on the shores of Chilko Lake, British Columbia. Equipped with just 10 items and a camera kit, each participant must survive in total isolation, with the hopes of lasting the longest and winning the $500,000 prize. Not only must they endure hunger, loneliness and the elements, but this season, they also face the deadliest predator in North America: the grizzly bear. No camera crews. No gimmicks. It is the ultimate test of human will.

“I’m coming home baby, get the coffee ready…” when you learn you just won a half million dollars says a lot about what a person values. Love that.

I am so happy for Clay. This was his to win, but fate sometimes interferes. Not only his supreme skills, but such a nice person and his philosophy of perseverance is right on.

Take a moment to respect the grit and determination of Biko, Theresa, and Colter.

“The world would be a much better place if at least once in their life everybody got to experience the kind of hunger that would make you sick the eyeballs out of a rabbit’s skull with much pleasure.” - Clay Hayes, Alone: Season 8 Winner.

That quote should go down in history as one of the most raw and insightful truths ever.

Clay’s archery/bowhunting skills are what made the difference. Only an elite hunter gets that deer and without that deer he doesn’t win.

With a location that is sparse on resources and strict regulations, Clay did a heck of a job showing his skills. I always thought being on the offensive was better than just gaining weight and playing the calorie game. My heart goes out for Biki, but Clay earned it.

I caught season Eight of Alone on Netflix and was hooked from day one. I thought that Theresa constructed the coziest shelter while Colter's engineering skills took him to new heights in building his canoe. Biko, well, I just admired his Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, upbeat attitude, and offbeat singing. Unfortunately, wild onion soup can only go so far. My hat is off to Clay, who not only has a budding career as a newscaster but kept his level head all through his 74 days, utilizing his woodsman skills to great advantage. He was considerate and genuinely thankful for the wildlife he consumed, and you could see the heartbreak when the wily Fisher was robbing his traps. And I felt genuine emotion when he was told he was the lasting one standing and when making that call to his wife and sons. Well done, Theresa, Colter, and Biko. Well done, Clay!

Wow! This year’s participants taught us all so much, but Clay’s overall skills were outstanding. And just in time too. That pesky fisher was going to be a problem. Great season, really proud of Clay.

As soon as I heard clay was gonna be in the show I told my wife, that's the winner right there, I've been following clay for so long on YouTube. Never met him in person but his videos show he is a good hard working caring a loving man to his family, I only wish I could be half that

Clay is one of my favorite participants in Alone history. He did well at hunting and showed perseverance even when his gill net kept messing up. Clearly he had the most skills and adept at standing the test of time on his season. I hope the money was helpful for the long term happiness with his family.

This is what survivalist do. The hardest part is that time away from the people that you love. The way you are doing this is what the nation needs to see and learn more about!!!

This man is the ultimate woodsman I ever experienced. Not only he was able to showcase his craftsmanship & survival skills, he also was mentally, physically, spiritually challenged extremely. Clay is definitely a experienced outdoors woodsman displaying a multitude of skills includes trapping, crafting, hunting, fishing, and much more indeed. I have virtually learned as well from Clay as from the beginning introduction into the woods which where he encamped his territory well off into the final day of his 3-plus months duration journey. Clay is incredible at what he does and he well deserves the rewards granted. Im looking forward to the next season of this show I hope airs sometime soon. Thanks Clay for your outstanding performance & showcasing brother, may many blessings continue to come your way and may the good LORD always be with you & your loved ones. 🍻 Cheers
