John Nelson hiked 14 miles to the top of Mount Timpanogos in Utah over the weekend, with Jonathon Blank strapped to his back. Nelson and Blank served in the same special operations unit of the Marine Corps. In 2010, Blank lost his legs in an explosion in Afghanistan. The two plan to hike up the tallest mountain in California on Veteran’s Day.
