Demystifying XR in Asia: David Weeks on AWE Asia and the Region's Rise

David Weeks is a Co-Founder of Sunrise International and the COO and Content Director of AWE Asia. AWE Asia is the region’s leading international XR conference and expo, bringing together 2,000 attendees, 100 speakers, and 80 exhibitors. AWE Asia 2024 will be hosted in Singapore from August 26-28. AWE Asia is part of the global Augmented World Expo (AWE) network, which runs the world's largest XR conference in California. As Content Director of AWE Asia, he steers session evaluations and the creation of the agenda each year. Through his work at Sunrise over the past 12 years, David has led cross-border marketing and consulting projects in China and the broader APAC region for more than 250 clients in XR, higher education, and education technology. A former national debate champion, he also co-founded the National High School Debate League of China in 2012. He is fluent in Mandarin and holds a BA in Asian Studies and Political Science from Swarthmore College. In his free time, he is an avid collector of frequent flier miles and festive socks.
