Pak Lah laid to rest

Former fifth Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was laid to rest at the Makam Pahlawan (National Heroes' Mausoleum) today.

The late prime minister's casket was carried by honour guards from the prayer hall to its final resting place at the Makam Pahlawan.

The open-air starburst vault of the Makam Pahlawan, surrounded by lush greenery, glowed with light as guests paid their last respects.

While a number of the country's heroes have been laid to rest here at the mausoleum, only four have been interred within the vault itself: Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Tun Hussein Onn, and Tun Abdul Ghafar Baba.
