I don't care about sports. Period. Whoever wins the Superbowl has no merit on the outcome of my life. The fact that so many people care and know more about their favorite sports teams than what is going on in their city halls, state capitols, and Washington DC is the real problem. We have become a nation of Bread and Circuses-and the politicians know it.

You're wrong, of course, about Rush. He was more than willing to savage the Republican establishment. His team was capital C Conservatism, not the Republican party.

That’s an interesting perspective, spectator sports being a major villain, but it’s not correct. Here’s what I see:

Until the nomination battle between Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama I paid little attention to politics. Suddenly this ambiguous “Hope and Change” agenda took on frightening perspective. Clinton’s and Obama’s race to the left brought to my attention unimagined policies. For the last 14 years the battle has raged. The Left told us the US was racist to its core, the American Revolution was fought in support of slavery, Critical Race Theory is the gospel, LBGTQ is the wave of the future, communism is our salvation, we must defund the police, the Green New Deal is mandatory, criminal behavior is a right.

The US has become ungovernable. The Left DEMANDS its way. We have a two tier legal system. The FBI becomes an arm of a political party. An absolute moron gets 81 million votes. And on, and on, and on. While I and people like me are not paying attention, this wound festering beneath the surface pops out like an oozing sore. Who are these people that want to destroy the US? It appears an entire generation has arisen who don’t see the the US as a land of opportunity, but a scourge on the world that needs to be deconstructed and rebuilt in the image of…who? The image of what? Do the would-be destroyers know?

Interesting commentary and theory. The team/tribal dynamic is absolutely a thing that’s been fueled for some years now. Great content!

I could care less about any professional sports and have never even watched one, America wastes far to much time and money on this BS

As I was previously a real fan/supporter of Dave who has watched every video and contributed financially to him, I saw that, over time, Dave shifted and seemingly took an opposing view from the perspective that he once held. I was perplexed and truthfully, deeply troubled. I was never a Trump lover nor am I a Republican. Pres.Trump did do some great things for our Country and for that, I am grateful. However, Pres.Trump installed some people in his cabinet and throughout his staff who were weak, traitorous, leaking scandal-mongers who created unnecessary turmoil and fear leading to investigations which undermined the good things that were being done. It is apparent that Dave was not a listener of Rush Limbaugh's show or he would not have made the comments that he made pertaining to Rush. Being a Conservative does not make one a Republican anymore than being a Republican makes one a Conservative. Rush was very vocal about the Republican party and I have heard him on numerous occasions throughout the years blast them for their failures and stupidity. The thing Rush had going for him was his ability to read the Democrat playbook and expose the double standard the Democrats were so good at applying with impunity. I listened daily to NPR for over 20 years and noticed the shift that they made about the time of the 2016 campaigns. They openly scoffed, mocked and ridiculed Donald Trump. They carefully edited interviews and "news" stories as their leftward leaning became an outright all in for the Democrat party. In October 2020 when in one day on NPR I heard at least 6 lies and again, very carefully edited "news" accounts, I was done. Neither have they apologized for their part in hoaxes or misinformation, for never making a correction concerning their openly biased lying, nor will they.
