One of my favorite tracks by these guys, and that's saying something.
As I understand it, this was the opening track on the U.K. edition of "Rubber Soul" (it's a soul tune, makes perfect sense, right?), but was left off of the American edition, and put on the American (what I only recently found out was a ) compilation album "Yesterday and Today, " which is where I first heard it.
The chord changes are pure gospel, and the singing, especially Sir Paul's up front, is pure R'n' B.
If Wikipedia's personnel listing is correct:
Paul McCartney – lead vocal, bass guitar, piano, slide guitar
John Lennon – lead vocal, tambourine
George Harrison – harmony vocal, lead guitar
Ringo Starr – drums, cowbell

...then I have been in error all these years in thinking that this was the first example of George's interest in slide guitar, which so infused his solo stuff in the '70's.
