Chronic stress can affect every system in the body. Let's talk about how to lower cortisol and relieve stress.

We've been told that our environment is dangerous, which causes a lot of stress and anxiety. But, while our environment may be dangerous, it's not as dangerous as many are led to believe—and it's not healthy to keep your attention on this negativity.

It's vital to change your viewpoint on your environment and see it in a positive light, as well as filter out some of the negativity you're exposed to.

Chronic stress can potentially lead to various health issues, including:
• A weak microbiome and more pathogenic bacteria
• A poor immune system
• Inflammation
• Fertility problems
• High insulin levels
• High triglycerides and LDL and low HDL
• Poor detoxification
• Slow digestion
• Poor absorption of vitamins and minerals (including vitamin D)
• Tightened fascia
• Cognitive problems
• The activation of bad genes and suppression of good genes

Two of the best ways to deal with stress and cortisol:
1. Change the viewpoint of your environment and filter out various threats of danger
• Get space in nature
• Connect with your environment

2. Physically flush out accumulated adrenaline and cortisol
• Exercise
• Do physical work

Reading my Bible and journaling every morning really helps release any anxieties I’m entering the day with. Mindfulness really makes the difference.

Gardening was an ultimate game changer for me! It is the single best thing any of us can do to address, literally, all of the world's current problems! Gardening lowers stress, provides exercise, improves mental health, beautifies communities, helps the environment, is a source of healthy/real food, and provides abundance to local economies.

As a little child, I lived through WWII in England but lost both parents. Life has been difficult for me, and if it were not for faith in GOD, I would not have made it this far. Came across your videos some time ago Dr. Berg, and your wisdom has helped me and my extended family so much. "Avoid the media" is the best advice you could possibly give, instead take that time to read the scriptures and you will be able to overcome anything. May GOD richly bless you for all the many years you have given in study on how to help people to live a healthier life. Priceless!

I lost my husband in 2021 to covid. It was unexpected and extremely traumatic. I had fight or flight and extreme stress. It affected every part of my being. It has taken me a year-and-a-half to get back to 80%. I lost weight my digestion was terrible no sleep, night terrors. I have learned a lot and have great advice on how to get past traumatic grief. I have a good faith, and know I will see my husband again one day.

Sometimes its not easy to reduce stress when it's the family that's causing the stress.

As a Christian I am in this world but not of it, so no matter what, my faith and staying in God's Word is paramount to dealing with issues.

- Excercise
- Read the Bible
- Learn something you always wanted to... mine is playing the piano and learning Spanish
- Hang out with family and friends that make you laugh
- If you can control it, avoid negative things that drain your energy and put you in a bad frame of mind or mood
- Take care of yourself, treat yourself, love yourself (make it a constant effort)

I was stuck in an anxiety state for almost a year. I couldn't be around a lot of people or just little things would make me jump and make my heart rate go up and it was skipping a lot as well, so much so that I made a cardiologist appointment. I started watching you and taking the right vitamins, exercising regularly and eating better and meditating. Being outside did wonders. Thank you for your videos

Veteran with PTSD, I've been aware of my sensitivity to stress for decades, but everyone around me acts like this stress is all okay. To break out of the pattern makes us subject of ridicule for being different. Find people that think like you and enjoy life, it's too short to live it being miserable.

You nailed it again Dr. Berg. My wife and I were having difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep. I suggested to her that we turn off all of our electronics 2 maybe 3 hours before bedtime. Now both of us get to sleep faster and stay asleep until our dogs start crying to go outside in the morning. We can't fix the world. And on that note, I don't think the world is as broken as they say.
