KNOCKAROUND GUYS MUSIC VIDEO - MAKE A DEAL WITH THE CITY (LYRICS)
Показать описание
A "Knockaound Guys" (2001) music video using the song played at the end of the movie when Matty and Taylor drive away into the city.
"Make a Deal With the City" by East River Pipe.
This was a harder music video to make just because most of the movie is spent in Montana, not New York, haha.
Though Matty's original home is in New York and this was of course the reason for the song being played at the end of the movie.
Certain lyrics fit with the situation as well.
I feel the song was chosen for the movie because Matty has to go and "make a deal with the city", basically, he's got to work with it, find a job, be a regular citizen.
I used all the clips of the city in the movie and also added in some moments during the time with Montana or during moments that I felt fit the lyrics best.
For instance, Matty "blowing up" -- freaking out.
Matty "deflating" -- emotionally defeated.
"People disappear" -- obviously Marbles and Scarpa getting shot and killed.
"Life might be a joke" -- this clip is from the scene where Matty is telling Scarpa that the both of them are a couple of "errand boys".
"You get smaller every day" -- took this clip from the scene where Matty's pop is belittling him and mocking him.
And mention of the plane, I obviously used clips of Marbles flying the plane.
"No bye byes" -- I used that for Matty and Taylor cause the two didn't lose each other and are in fact the only person in the other's life who they can trust. Plus they drive away together, no good byes here.
"Gonna fly away from you" -- Matty basically driving away from his father's restaurant; driving away from his father after having decided he's no longer going to try and live up to what his father wants him to be.
I added in the lyrics but for the sake of making it a more appealing music video, though I have a version without the lyrics as well that I plan to post.
