I feel like this video didn’t really explain very well why Bangladesh’s geography is good or bad

China and the India subcontinent are ridiculously rich in arable land and resources, no wonder they combined have over 3 billion people

The Bengal area was on of the richest areas pre British time, it was contributing 20 percent of the entire subcontinent till this date no state in the
world has been able to put such contributions. California is close but not yet there even with Sillicon Valley. The Bengal part is full of water and
has on of the most arable and fertile land in the world.

Basically, poor management, typical colonialism disasters, and overpopulation have turned a great situation into a nightmare

Corruption is the #1 problem in Bangladesh.

There is a saying:
Rajuk fixes a broken road. Then Wasa(sewage) tears it up to fix plumbing then wait Rajuk to fix the road and then Wasa comes back to tear up the road again.

There is obviously the coordination problem but also classic corruption. Contract for fixing up road and sewage is how many make money.

I highly appreciate that you pronounced "Bangladesh" correctly and atleast you tried to do so with the other names. Thanks!

As an Indian I hope one day the old wounds would heal and India Pakistan and Bangladesh (and maybe Nepal and SriLanka too?) Would form a NAFTA like organisation like you guys in North America and business and Trade would boom. And Subcontinent would be prosperous. Lets not hate over Reiligion, lets look at shared interest and be pragmatic.

I like the way you use little parchment notes to indicate there's a source in the description. Clever editing.

As a Bangladeshi I can say the video is actually very well put together.. without any BS. Thanks for doing that.

Bengal was the richest country during Bengal Sultanate, Mughol and Nawab era. When British came here it was the richest indeed when they are leaving Bengal, it become poorest. Such a tragic looting of Bengal.

You could have done better research. The presentation seemed a bit sketchy. Some of the footages you have shown are actually taken in India not BD.

As a Bangladeshi we are not really that squeezed in this country. Well you see there is pictures that a lot of people trying to get in the train, well that does not happen all the time. Its because all the exams are done and they are going to holiday but because too much population people some have struggling in the train.

Really really appreciate this channel's dedication to cite sources properly and provide notations WITHIN the video... Many channels provide sources but there isn't a way to connect them with content so this method is really good

Bangladesh is blessed with many things naturally. Our population is huge if you compare it with our land area. Still our land is providing us food without any big problems. Natural disasters are the only negative thing about our Geography. Unfortunately people of our country only think about their stomach otherwise our country could be a prosperous nation by this time.

3:00 The division in 1905 you showed is partial. The then Bengal Province (or Presidency or whatever, I forgot) was larger, and had parts of today's Indian states of Bihar and Odisha. The division in 1905 added Assam to East Bengal.

This video hits on several crucial points right at the sweet spot.
1. The delta and the resultant arable land.
2. The fact that Dhaka's management is vested on different agenices, making coordination the #1 challenge.

The Dhaka map is dead wrong. It shows the old Dhaka Division before it had been divided into Dhaka including the part south of the river Padma called Greater Faridpur which is going to become the nineth or the tenth division of our country which might get named Padma after the mighty river itself, and the Maymansingha (Mymansing) division on the north.
In short, the southern zone marked as Dhaka south is not a part of the Dhaka Metropolitan area.
