Known collectively as Above & Beyond, Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki make up one of the world’s most successful dance acts, with recent artist album “Common Ground” entering the Billboard 200 at number three. In 2016 the Grammy-nominated trio left the electronic music world behind. Above & Beyond Acoustic: Giving Up The Day Job follows the group’s unlikely journey from the DJ booth to the Hollywood Bowl, from the initial re-imagining of songs at Abbey Road Studios, through to their presentation at iconic global venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall, the Sydney Opera House and finally the Hollywood Bowl. With a travelling party of 17 musicians plus a 34-piece orchestra in LA, the new film is an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s biggest dance acts as they risk it all to go acoustic.

Above & Beyond Acoustic: Giving Up the Day Job was directed by award-winning directors Paul Dugdale and Myles Desenberg. Paul Dugdale with Scheme Engine (Ed Sheeran: Jumpers For Goalposts, The Rolling Stones Olé, Olé, Olé!: A Trip Across Latin America) directed the live concert at The Hollywood Bowl, and Myles Desenberg of BAFTA-nominated production company Archer’s Mark, directed the tour documentary.

I like this version best and mainly because of the singer his demeanor his understated charisma and passion. Literally brought tears to my eyes. This is MUSIC AT ITS BEST! GREATNESS. BRAVO! The look on the crowd members faces the experience translates to the viewer. This tune restored my faith in the human spirit and the immutable power of music. This is music at it's best. Melodic memorable great arrangement fantastic musicianship. The best of the best!

This song is from 5 years ago and it makes me cry today. We are at a time where the global system is almost in collaps, with war, politic, health, natural disasters and many more.

Una vez tuve un Tío, era enorme, gordo y con un gran corazón, era de esa clase de persona que llenaba de energía positiva cualquier lugar donde el iba, con una sabiduría poco alcanzable dada la basta experiencia que había cosechado en sus años de vida. Todo siempre fue felicidad a su alrededor a pesar de que por errores de juventud perdió muchas cosas en su vida, era fuerte y resilente; por mas cosas malas que podrían sucederle siempre estaba ahí, sonriendo y dando ánimos a los demás. El me amó desde antes de mi nacimiento y dijo cosas bastante asertivas sobre mi futuro en relación a mi familia de pequeño. Una frase que el acuño fue "mas vale ser rey en el silencio, que esclavo de tus palabras" ...y así, tomando esa frase el un día cualquiera a sus 76 años de edad se quitó la vida, el hombre fuerte de un momento a otro simplemente dejo de serlo, y probablemente todo lo que contuvo detrás de su sonrisa, termino por romperlo en pedazos... ni siquiera dejo una nota explicando sus razones. Esta canción me recuerda a el, ya no aguantando mas y partiendo en silencio a un "movido cielo azul" a descansar por tanto soportar en esta vida. En su funeral di un pequeño discurso y de recuerdo le deje un rey de mi ajedrez sobre su féretro, el siempre fue pobre y no supo mucho lo que eran los lujos ni el dinero, pero ese día, desde su propio silencio eterno... el se convirtió en rey... te quiero.
