Excellent picks. I approve heartily of anyone who gives Rod Land the recognition it deserves. Storm/Sales Curve did a banger of a job on all their conversions of this. The Game Boy version is excellent, too. The NES version I don't have quite so much experience with but they gave it a bit of a twist by allowing the characters to jump.

A lot of people describe Rod Land as "arcade perfect" -- it's pretty close, certainly, but there are a few little bits where it's not quite right, most notably with regard to which piece of music plays where. Though considering all the team got from Jaleco was a garbled sprite sheet that they had to make sense of and unjumble themselves, I think it was a remarkable achievement that they managed to get as close to perfection as they did!

2022 had a lot of STinkers. Must of been hard to pick the contenders! 😊 Yeah I agree Rodland is a great game with nice graphics & sound. The one crappy game that was a runner up that I actually like is Wolfchild. But it seems I'm the only ST user who likes that one. 😁

Great video! There’s a lot of stuff you showed us in 2022 man, good job. I have to say that I really liked Rodland back in the day and enjoyed it a lot, so it’s a fair winner of the best arcade conversion, but (as you know) the best reviewed game in 2022 (and the best ST game EVER) must be Wings of Death!! 😜

Excellent choices. I really don't know how they got HATE so wrong. If anyone is looking for a Zaxxon style shooter, Leviathan is a far better option (bloody hard though). Happy New Year.🎉

I gotta say as an ST owner you make me depressed about the quality of the library! More bad awards handed out than good, which fits what you’ve been playing this year!

Best game for me and in my opinion has to be Dungeon Master.
