AMAZING Garden Center, BAD Ponds.

I'm visiting the Bridgemere Garden Center in the UK. We take a quick tour of this place as we see how inspiring their garden center is and how great the shopping experience is. The thing they miss is the inspiration for water gardening.

Couldn't agree with you more Greg, without inspiration shops struggle to show what is possible. Unfortunately I've been told so many times, that is the way we do it in the UK. One day we will get it!

You should have offered the local aquascape artist to set up a proper display ecosystem pond for the garden centre, not only to showcase the aquascape way, but great advertising for him and no doubt you would provide the equipment and whatever support - could be a nice 2025 project 🙂

I watch all the UK koi guys they have so much more than what we have and at a better price

Probably the only way to do it would be for Aquascape to create something like what you have in America (minus the HUGE pond) and have a cafe and plants too. A place that is a destination in and of itself' to greatly contrast the differences. Ponds have been a big part of Europe (not just England) and it would take something that is a great example to change the mindset around ponds.

Hi Greg you are 100% right about here, we are told by various YouTube (experts) that we need to have fibreglassed concrete ponds with the latest drum filters l RO systems etc too achieve crystal clear water with very low TDS readings . And every time we see a fish flashing put some pp or fluke treatment in to keep koi successfully. Watched your video the other week when you were in Gateshead in the north east, I wish I had known about it before I just live up the road it would have been nice to meet you 😊. Next time.

im from the uk, i think the main problem with a pond show room over here is that 95% of people don't have the space in their gardens for these ponds to go in. in america you guys have huge gardens its quite rare over here to have one as big

Greg if you are still in the UK Kenchester Water Gardens in Herefordshire I think you would enjoy visiting some nice outdoor ecosystem ponds and the national collection of Water Lily

Still haven’t seen a store leave a build in pond . When I say store means a big box store

I think a lot of people over here have the plug and play systems. A lot of patio ponds and garden centres probably don’t have the knowledge you do to sell them any differently.
If you could show them how to do it this novice would be very grateful. 😄

Saying all that there is a garden centre in Brockworth, Gloucestershire that does have a few actual ponds. No idea on the systems they use or if they’re even set up to try and sell their products. They mostly just look for show. 🤷‍♀️

the garden centers are great but not so good for actual ponds lol, i m building my own rec pond in Leicestershire uk, which may seem strange to have a rec pond in the uk 😂😂🤷‍♂️
