I just can't look past how these are around $2500-3000 more expensive than the $1680 for the CRW (Craft Racing Works) 5060's which are lighter at 1290g and probably perform very similarly, outside of lab-tests!

That's a lot more money for (I presume) a better warranty and the ability to go buy them in a local shop!

But hey, as a shop-owner I'd be stocking whichever products gave me the best sales + margins. So more power to you for removing the obviously-excess bills from those Floridian's wallets 😆

@gcperformance PRO TIP: when you use the caliper to measure inner widths, use other end of the caliper. The blades on the other side are inverted which allow you to allign with inner walls

I have a hard time justifying the price for anyone thats not actually racing. We all want to go fast but these are only marginally better than wheels costing less than half. They also dont sound like they are optimized for 28mm tires which is what most of us weekend wariors are using.

I have a set of the Peak 4550's and firmly believe it's the best set of wheels I have. I was at their open house this year in Connecticut and was very impressed by everyone and their commitment to producing a top-quality product. It's amusing to hear how some people think that some brands with ridiculously wide wheels are better.

I think a lot of you folks don’t get that cycling is fundamentally a luxury sport. It isn’t about “value for money” or “performance per dollar”.
The large majority of folks in this sport are in it for a hobby, and not a career. And what do you want out of a luxury hobby? Big price tags and the sense of luxury.
