I'm a 35m and this last weekend I had bleeding in the vitreous for a couple of hours after a SNEEZE. I went to the ER, then to an optometrist who immediately sent me to a retinal specialist in Fort Smith, AR.
He declared it a small detachment of the vitreous leading to a hemorrhage and to give it time.
I drive for a living because migraines keep me out of a job. My wife is disabled and my kids are too young to work. After watching this video, I am going to take my 2 weeks to seriously consider the treatment options if there is no change in my vision.
This video is EXACTLY right in how I now see in my right eye.

If the floater is really bad, you will never get used to it. Have been struggling since it first appeared for 12 years. Every single day. And as it gets worse, I struggle more. For me vitrectomy is just a matter of time.

My white floaters were huge and in both eyes, it was getting scary to drive. I did the vitrectomy. No more floaters. . Yay !!!

Excellent video! I’m a 33 year old myopic male and had a partial PVD after a course of oral ciprofloxacin (which wasn’t a listed side effect) with terrible new onset floaters. In all my years working as an internist I was shocked to learn how toxic systemic fluoroquinolones were to the eye and I believe the incidence is vastly underreported for this class owing to their collagen degradation effects elsewhere in the body and since few systemic drugs can penetrate into the vitreous.

Excellent explanation. Thank you very much sir. I am currently going through this and am very scared. Have an appointment with an eye surgeon tomorrow morning.

The idea of doing nothing and suffering the rest of my life doesn't seem like an option. More information on the vitrectomy surgery would be great.

Superb explanation. At 73, I was diagnosed with PVD in my right eye, about 6 months ago, with all the symptoms discussed except for the blurred vision. The floaters have all but disappeared now because of Neuro-adaptation so it doesn't bother me at all although in bright light they do become apparent once again. My consultant did warn me to contact him if I think my sight in that eye is becoming blurred.

Thank you, i had my retina examined for tears, seems alright although I need to avoid excessive aerobic exercises, jogging the eye, and jumping for first 3 weeks as separation continues. It’s frustrating at times watching this floater get in my way. Lol it’s like a plastic bag moving around sometimes it stays low, sometimes it’s midrange.

Doctor I am 29 year old myopic and was recently diagnosed with PVD. My doctor checked my retina and said that my eye retina is absolutely fine. I also have a premature cataract on both eyes. Could you please enlighten me on what type of treatment should I be going. I am absolutely devastated to know all this

Awesome explanation. Now, when the vitreous detaches and contracts, how much can it contract? Wouldn't this process jeopardize the eye structure per ce?

Thank you for your video. So helpful and I just subscribed. I was diagnosed with vitreous detachment a few days ago and it seemed odd to me that my doctor did not recommend anything for me to actively do about it, so your saying that the best option is no treatment is reassuring. I do 1/2 hour a day of low impact cardio exercise - is it okay to continue that?

Thank you so much I was just diagnosed with PVD and this was very helpful! If you have the laser surgery will that clear your vision?

I can't keep living with my floaters. Haven't been outdoors due to depression for about 7 month. I think my only way is vitrectomy. What do you think, is it very dangerous or I should do it? I'm 22.

I have this PVD Symptoms, With just one floating "stick", not too disturbing, and Flesh lights on the side (it was more at the beginning, but very few now - after 5 days) I visited an eye clinic, and I was told that my retina is complete and healthy, not injured.
My question is, that since I am a personal trainer and yoga teacher, so my whole life is about sports and moving, what is important for me to know for the future?
Thank you in advance!

Positive criticism…..very good thorough and informative presentation !!! On something I m living with 🙄 and know about. Not even 10 secs on the treatments of PVD which would be a life saver to me and others…..

I am 57 and very near-sighted. I noticed a blurry cloud in my left eye a moth ago, which an ophthalmologist confirmed was PVD. Today, I noticed a similar blurry cloud in my right eye. Both blurry clouds were preceded by (what appeared like) lightning in my upper quadrant, peripheral vision. Dilation exam scheduled for next week. Question: at 57, is PVD hitting me earlier than normal? I am worried that I am prematurely aging/falling apart sooner than average people. 🙁
