YES. I need to re-read this book since it has been so long, but I looove this book and I love George Orwell. If you haven't already, definitely pick up Animal Farm, too. Or just anything Orwell has written.

This was among the books our Philosophy teacher recommended us to read to accompany political philosophy. At the time I didn't really have enough time or energy outside school to read it. I think I'll give it a go soon!

I read 1984 in French, I hope I will read it in English. It's, my favourite classics for the moment, It was absolutely perfect !

I wrote an article on this once for a student newspaper. My writing wasn't great.  Hope you read 1984's appendix on doublethink, jargon etc.: good stuff. (some people skip reading it). I think GO finished writing the book in '48 & flipped the 48 to 84 for his title...though it wasn't pub. till '49. Happy reading!
