What I realized much later about this moment, is that if Tony had showed up at his mom's house when he was working as a dishwasher, she probably would have broke down in tears and hugged her son for working a honest job. Tony's life could have been so different. He might have barely made money but he would of had his family.

Best part of the whole movie. Full of wisdom for those with understanding. The music, the innocence of the sister, and the hard working protective mother that will forsake one child to protect the other from going down the same wrong path. It took the mother all but 10 seconds of opening the door to realize that Tony hadn't changed. I love it when the mother put up that arm in the kitchen to prevent Gina from running to Tony. The mother did her best with what she had and outlived her kids who were deceived by the allure of the fast life. Lesson: there are no short cuts in life without risks.

Pacino's eyes at 1:52, always get me. Without that glimmer of goodness in his eyes, a mere second or two, the film wouldn't be as great.

That made me tear up a bit. Tony was kind of happy and shocked when Gina hugged him. It showed him that he was sincerely loved by his sister.

The acting of the mother is just perfect: without saying 1 word you could see how she saw through the smile of Tony that in fact he didn't changed a bit since the last time they saw eachother. Just the expression on her face was enough to say that she was disappointed in her son again. What a great piece of art this scene is on so many

I always cry with this scene, it's so powerful and immersive... It makes you pay attention all the way through. it feels longer than 2 minutes, talk about something well done.

This is why I love Scarface so much, there is no other movie out there like this masterpiece, period.

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was so perfect for this role. Her innocence, her musical voice, and her unconditional love for her brother are just palpable, and her musical theme is beautiful, poignant, and foreshadowing.
