Which is better, Netflix or TikTok? No comparison? Well, I saw a tweet yesterday that said Netflix is struggling because so many people are watching TikTok. Of course, some people thought that was pretty dumb. One guy was like, "You've got some of the best television ever made up against dancing teens. Please." But that's naive. When a business is built on taking people's time, attention is all that counts. All of a sudden, competitor is a very broad term. The competition is literally anything else the customer can spend their time on.
If you're still watching this video, first, thank you. Second, I'm beating out everything else in the universe that you could be paying attention to. Of course, I'm not the real winner here, because I'm not getting anything for this. TikTok is. We're all pawns. So I'd say it makes perfect sense to hypothesize that Netflix needs to up their game in order to beat TikTok and their ilk.
Now someone might ask, aren't you kind of dim for being in the puzzle business then? Because how is sitting at a table with cardboard for seven and a half hours going to compete with TikTok? But no, I'm not in the attention game at Blue Kazoo. I don't need people to do puzzles, I need people to buy puzzles. There's a big difference. I don't care if you leave the puzzles on the shelf and scroll through TikTok instead. In fact, I ought to appreciate it. If that's more your speed, come on, I got more.
