I love my old (1950's - 1960's) sewing machines (3-Singers and 2-Kenmores). I do have a modern Bernina which I use for fancy stitches. Those old sewing machines were made to last. Plus, they are hard working. Enjoy your JUKI. That is a little to big for my sewing room.

I have a Juki DL5530 that is a 100% industrial machine that came right off a factory floor....no bells and whistle and it is in the table also from the factory. I wouldn't trade this machine for the best thread cutting, self threading, drop in bobbin machine that money could buy. This machine is a work horse and I love it...I have been offered a few thousand for it but I won't sell until I can no longer sew. I bought it for a very reasonable deal and my most favorite part is the knee lift for the pressure foot...essential for quilting in my opinion...the only drawback is there is no walking foot that fits this machine...so I have to use my home machine for that. Enjoy your machine.

Happy belated birthday. Wow what a wonderful present. My birthday was in January and nothing happened. I must be in the wrong family...haha. Never mind, if I wanted a new sewing machine hubby would say I could have anything I wanted. I like the positions of both machines. Easy and accessible to one another. I am sure you will get a lot of enjoyment from your new machine. Looking forward to hearing more about your Juki.

I love my Juki, it was a great investment. It took me a few tries to master the threader but I finally got it. I agree about the bobbin😁.

Finally a honest review, I like the Fan club people saying Yes yes yes, when they are just trying to sell the Juki machines. I actually just bought the TL18, which I hope to love and learn a lot. But seeing a HONEST review without and the smoke and mirrors is a breath of fresh air. And fresh needles, thread and Ideas. Thanks again. your new Subscriber. Mike

I'm glad you like your Juki. I never could get the threader to work properly. I've had mine about 8 years now and absolutely love it.

I recently bought a Brother 1500SL which is very similar to the Juki TL 2000. It, too, was very noisy...and I use all metal vintage machines. I oiled it, still noisy. I oiled it again and let it sit for a week. That gave the oil time to penetrate and it really quieted down at that point.

Ohh also Beth from my sewing room channel has a video of a thrift story desk her husband modified for her Juki.. in the video she said she recommends the font n porter self threading needles
