One of the great piano compositions of the 20th century.

If I could write music like this... But I can't and that's all there is to that. A very beautiful piece, extraordinary, one of the clearest and most lucid of this kind.

In my humble opinion, one of the great masterpieces for piano of the 20th century. Of the 11 pieces in his "Klavierstucke" opus,
only this one is truly remarkable. Once the aleatory piece was considered "far out", but to me it's trivial now. The 9th will last
in perpetuum, in beauty, in elegance, and in grace. I'm not sure Stockhausen wants to be remembered for any of those qualities, though.

Dunno how the hell did I end here...

Nice music, by the way.

Haha!

Absolutely brilliant piece of poetry! Why hasn't yet Stockhausen won the Nobel Prize for Peace?

Aimard is so great for playing such and other crap.

Sounds so wrong and so good at the same time

I heard that if you listen too long for Stockhausen, you start to grow horn-rimmed glasses and you will never ever read a book again that doesn't say "Theodor W. Adorno" on the front cover. And if you go for sushi, you only pick the vegetarian ones.

Since most of the devices you would often use to look at a more "traditional" piece prove to be useless or even misleading here, how should one go about understanding these kinds of works?
