ボディバリエーションはクーペとコンバーチブルがあり、ロールバーも全くないフルオープンのボディは、サブフレームの追加など大規模なボディの補強が行なわれている。
Eタイプから継承され続けている、Ｖ型12気筒SOHCエンジンは5343ccの排気量から、最高出力280ps(206kW)/5500rpm、最大トルク42.3kg・m(414.8N・m)/2800rpmを発揮している。
ミッションは3速ATで後輪を駆動、シャシーはXJサルーンのものを使用し、サスペンション形式は同じではあるが、ホイールベースを切り詰めている事と、サスのチューニングが異なるため、サルーンよりも運動性能は高かった。
