In the wake of the horrible killing of George Floyd, many are proposing different solutions to ensure that something like this never happens again. From defunding the police entirely or mandating better officer training, it seems like all options are on the table. One option that should not be overlooked is the power police unions have over dealing with situations like this. This week, we talk with Rachel Greszler about how confronting police abuse requires shifting power away from police unions.

Not a fan of unions; but without them, you need some way to protect officers from politically motivated, unjust treatment.

Thanks to the tribalism, corruption and bias that are so common in the NY Metropolitan area’s law enforcement, we have a permissive leak environment, predetermining of investigations, non investigation of political amigos, thumb on the scale against political targets, making up their rules and letting their bias guide their investigation.  The local political culture in NY & NJ local government is fossilized and incapable of adapting to the times.

We must reform and modernize the local government political systems we have inherited.  We must overcome obstacles such as outworn myths that have encrusted the thinking of the local politicians owned and fully paid for by Monopolistic and Politicized Public Unions.

There is general agreement that the law enforcement status quo we have today isn't working in the N.Y. - NJ Metro area.  These small fully autonomous local police departments are protected and shielded from review and prosecution by powerful corrupt dishonest Politicized Monopolistic Public Police Unions.

Deep State criminal activities (intimidation, harassment, endless multi-year surveillance etc.) against a political target are carried out by private security firms composed of former law enforcement and intelligence folks.  These security firms use their contacts in local law enforcement do their dirty work. We cannot ignore the NY Metropolitan area’s long and extensive history of tribalism often reflected in ethnic organized crime mentality.
