'Westworld': Rodrigo Santoro Says HBO Series Is 'Much More Interesting' Than Sex and Nudity

First HBO announced that the sci-fi/Western series Westworld is finally kicking off in 2016, then we got a stellar first trailer for the series, and then things got a little weird when details from one of the show’s SAG-AFTRA contracts surfaced. Apparently those doing background work on the upcoming series must agree to “perform genital-to-genital touching,” “contort to form a table-like shape while being fully nude,” and more seemingly exploitative activities.

Created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Westworld is described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin,” and will show what goes down at an amusement park populated by life-like robots where visitors can live out their every fantasy, including sexual encounters. But still, that consent form is above and beyond anything I’d expect to see in the TV show adaptation of the 1973 Michael Crichton book of the same name.

I recently got the opportunity to talk to Westworld star Rodrigo Santoro for his upcoming film, The 33, and he took a moment to comment on the level of sex and nudity in the series.
