Canon V10: Why Do They Think Vloggers Are This Dumb?

Canon V10 vlogging camera. I don't understand why they look at all vloggers as these entry level people with zero skill or knowledge of how to operate a camera. Time after time, camera companies release cameras designed for vlogging, and they are the most dumbed down version of entry level beginner cameras. It's insulting, we get cameras like the Sony ZV1F, Panasonic G100, Nikon Z30 etc. Redo your market research companies, there are pro vloggers, and creative people out there, and your tools are holding us back.

Gordon Lange did a video nicely showing stabilization, crops, focal lengths, sound, accessories, etc of the V10. But I still came here to enjoy CC's griping about it. Keep up the hunt for the perfect camera! Great work!

ngl, I think you nailed it with "it's designed for beginning baby vloggers" ... because it is. It's meant to be a one button "push to record" fisher price vlogger camera for people who don't want to get lost in the weeds with interchangeable lenses and different codecs. I don't think that's a bad thing. It's a little over priced, but it is what it is... and it's easy to say "oh well my phone can record better quality" but does your phone seriously have enough internal storage left over for that or a front facing screen for when you use the actual good quality rear camera? Because mine sure as shit doesnt. I think black magic pockets already have the top end covered with interchangeable lenses, raw 10 bit 6k, global shutter, bla bla bla and the mid tier is covered quite nicely with the new mirrorless 'slr minus the lr' breed of full frame. GoPro and DJI have the really tiny, fixed lens, no focus, everything over saturated and horrendously sharpened market covered. I respect what Canon are trying to do with this... I just wish it wasn't so expensive with out of date feeling tech. Give me internal lens IS, 120 fps 1080, and regular canon colour picture profiles and I'd be sold. An all in one, pocket friendly device that you can just whip and capture some quick video with on the fly that has an external 3.5mm audio jack is kind of a blessing, really. Not everyone wants to carry the gorilla pod, gimbal, shotgun mic, couple of lenses, ND filters, spare batteries, SD cards, atomos external monitor, smallrig cage... the full backpack full of pro video makers kit everywhere they go. Canon were going for quick, simple, easy and as a first attempt - I think they pretty much nailed it. If it had been half the price, it'd be worth every penny.

If a Camera company can't make a camera with specs equal to the GoPro 8 in resolution and frame rate then it should not be a product. 4K 60p is a must and anything lower than that is not acceptable by today's standards. All iPhones since the iPhone 8 can do 4K 60 without issue and that was 7 years ago NEARLY A DECADE! LOL What is Canon thinking?

If it had Phase Detect auto focus it might be ok, but with the same Contrast Autofocus that is garbage from the G7XM3, this little camera is unfortunately dead on arrival.

I think it’s good enough for what it is. My only issue is the built in battery. Even action cams have removable battery.
