One thing that bugs me is that we are expected to believe that a super rich, old money, aristocrat family had so few potential heirs. Sir James and Elspeth only had ONE sibling between them and she had ONE child?! But they can whip up 200 party guests for Oliver at the drop of a dime? Nah, there should have been more of a scramble over that property and inheritance unless the implication is that Elspeth is just easily manipulated and was convinced to cut off the rest of her family over some kid that her son knew for 6 months.

I sensed strong 'Talent Ripley' vibes in this movie. The main character is somewhat of a sociopath, very manipulative. You see, he desires Felix, but when rejected, he doesn't hesitate to kill him and then exerts psychological dominance even in his death by symbolic actions (what he did in his grave). Interesting movie to watch, but not doubt the script is totally inspired by " The Talent Ripley".

I loved how unexpected and surprising this movie was. It is surrounded by an atmosphere of dark beauty.
