Little Round Top saw action during the 2nd day of the Battle of Gettysburg on 2 July 1863. Nearly 3,000 Union Troops successfully defended against nearly 5,000 Confederate Troops and is best known for Joshua Chamberlain and the 20th Maine's downhill bayonet charge in a last ditch attempt to defend the position. Union casualties were 565 to the Confederates' 1366. The timelapse narration is from Ken Burns' 1990 documentary, "The Civil War."
