Flyfishing for Baltic Salmon in Swedish Lapland

In Haparanda, the Torne River meets the Baltic Sea with its beautiful archipelago. This is also where the mighty Baltic salmon begins its journey upstream.

July and August are absolutely the best times to visit our Baltic Salmon waters here above the Arctic Circle. We have two free-flowing rivers, Torne River and Kalix River, which are connected by the Tärendö River, the second-largest bifurcation in the world. In Pajala municipality, Torne and Kalix split into different smaller rivers, among them the Muonio River and the Lainio River.
