MSI have really upper their game with the new B500 range of motherboards and the B550 Pro VDH WiFi is not exception and actaully exceeds my expectations of a sub £95 motherboard!

It features a VRM setup very similar to the MSI B450 Tomahawk board with a 4+2 phase design and this means that it will be good for all AMD Ryzen processors up to and including the R9 3950X even with an overclock, for detailed VRM comparisons you can check out Steve's review over at Hardware Unboxed.

This board goes a little further than the B450 Tomahawk as it also features multiple addressable RGB outputs and also includes built in 802.11 AC Wifi and bluetooth 4.2 and a heatsink for the PCIe Gen4 NVME socket and drive. Pretty good spec for a board that costs a little less than the MSI Tomahawk MAX board at the moment.

So overall a great choice for anyone that might be considering the Tomahawk but needs a little extra in the feature set.

As someone about to or considering buying this board thank you so much for telling me basically everything I wanted to know. It would've been nice to see the bios or get your opinion on it at least if its user friendly etc how it handles new hardware retrain/boot looping but otherwise still very helpful cheers.

Bought this board in September, put the whole build together on Halloween night. Everything ran smooth and was compatible with the board out of the box. Didn't have to flash BIOS or anything. Was able to connect all 5 of my arctic p12 fans on one header, RAM worked out of the box besides having to change the speed in the BIOS. All in all, this is a solid mobo. Not flashy but it gets the job done.
