Hey Chris! I just kinda wanted to say thanks, because without you, there is no magic in my life. One of my opening lines I love to use is:

"How are you guys, you guys doing good? I don't mean to interrupt you guys.... they actually paid me to interrupt you guys"

And what I've found, is when I state the: 'I don't mean to interrupt you guys'
People really WANT to be interrupted. Interrupted from boredom, pointless cell phone scrolling, small talk... and they want to be left with something they can all talk about, a memory to connect on, and time spent smiling, in laughter, that leaves their brains questioning and stimulated.

A good tip with remembering names is to repeat the spectators name throughout the trick, because people like to have other people know their names. A few weeks ago on David Blaine's tour I noticed that David Blaine would repeat the spectators name which creates more suspense, and it is really helpful with remembering names.

Great vid. Adding to that, and this is probably something you touched on in another vid, but really talk to people. This is so important and I see so many young magicians neglecting this. They talk "at" people, but they're not really listening, not absorbing anything. It's prerecorded. Having a real, organic conversation creates flow and can guide the direction your routine takes.

Chris, thanks for this great video. My full time job is as a trainer of teambuilding facilitators (essentially I teach people how to play games that make better humans), and the tips you share in this video are easily transferable to other careers where there is a performance component.
