One of the best watch purchase I ever made was to pick up my first Zenith El Primero in London on Easter Sunday from Watches of Switzerland. I own a Rolex submariner and Datejust, but knowing it’ll take forever to get a Daytona from an AD, a Zenith in person is an unreal feeling knowing that it was the lifeblood for Rolex from its infancy of chronomasters and it is the movement that put the Daytona on the map.

Totally agree. If I need to decide in between Rolex and Zenith then it is for sure Zenith.

Zenith watches are excellent. But strangely Rolex people hate them? One of the unexplained mysteries of the world, especially when you look back at the history of the Daytona.

Hope that is a rhetorical question - I wonder if anyone still thinks Rolex is better than Zenith, Breitling, Omega, G.Seiko, etc, etc. Take what Tudor really is, and you'd realize that's actually the price Rolex should be going for. Forget the million dollar marketing, the diamonds, the white gold and the platinum, which by default make any watch expensive.

Style and history wise, I'd love to add a Zenith to the collection, especially an El Primero chrono but I could never afford one. They feel way over priced for the place they are in the market.
