I just watched this (I'm very behind on YouTube videos). First of all, very good analysis. I'm glad you covered all the risks with Alibaba and factored them into your valuation. I have a question. With all of these analyses, what exactly does the discount rate mean/tell you. When I do my FCF intrinsic value calculations, whatever "discount rate" I put in spits out the price the stock would have to be in order for me to get that return annually (based on the calculation). Does the discount rate mean the same thing for yours or something else?

Great process.. even accounting for biases (don’t forget the probabilities ^^) subscribed. I think what you’re missing is the slow organic growth over the last few quarters (<15%). So I would be more conservative. But I’d give the VIE risk sub 1%.. :)

BABA might be the trade of the decade. Two years ago oil went to zero, now it hit 100, trends change fast. Catching a falling knife is always better than holding the bag (buying at the top) the damn thing is down 65%! I’m buying Jan 2024 leaps. Let’s see if it comes back to life or goes zero.
