Bose Sleepbuds II: First Week Impressions - Are they worth $250?

I've had the Bose Sleepbuds II for a week now, and have learned a lot about my preferences: both with the comfort, as well as my preferred sounds. These are my impressions of the Sleepbuds after a week.

This review was not sponsored by Bose, I purchased the Sleepbuds on my own and the opinions are wholly mine.

Is it just my computer or is the video super dark? =/

I am beyond overjoyed they've brough out a V2, I became so dependant on the OG buds and when I got through my 3rd set of failed ones I really struggled with sleeping again. Ordered a set today and cannot wait to have these in my life again!

I've had the Bose Sleepbuds now for about two years.
In my experience, you need more than a couple of weeks to get used to them.
I've been now using them every day for the last year or so.
They are very comfortable and the sounds do put me to sleep with ease.
The biggest problem with the first generation ones is that they randomly drop the sound on one year, which it wakes me up.
I have to reset them and start over again.
I hope they corrected this problem on the second generation.
Yes, they are pricy but all together I find them very useful, especially to mask outside noise.

I've had mine a week now, I'm too undecided, I seem to fall asleep quicker with the buds, but its just getting my ears used to the being in, great video by the way,

Tried these on a whim after having my Zenbuds for a month (love them, they do perfect) and actually decided to keep these. It took two nights to get used to the feel (now I forget they’re in) only problem is the case doesn’t always act right (it will sometimes flash the lights even though they’re at full charge, sometimes show the three lights instead of five when plugged into the wall, etc). Battery lasts as long as promised, completely cancel out my hubby’s allergy snore, and the right bud has only fallen out once so far. They’ve demoted my Zenbuds to nap status.

Good follow up Andrew; I have yet to watch your first review as this one came up in my suggestions. By the sound of it I need to give them a fair chance of at least a week. I tried them for the first time last night but found I had to take them out halfway through the night as the hard bit was digging in. I use a wool pillow and had the number 2’s in. I am presuming changing to 1’s won’t make any difference as the hard bit will still be the same? I’m hoping I will be able to find a position to get used to them, and if not I will use them for pre-sleep relaxation and napping through the day.

The most important point is: DO THEY MASK NOISES like slamming doors? => THEY DON´T!! Even the sound of pressing the light switch comes through. I`ll send them back even I tried them just some minutes.

Hello, thank you for the review, would you say that they are as good as “foam earplugs”? Better, worse? Many Thanks.

Does the lid on your case wiggle at all? Like is there some play in the sliding mechanism if you grab the lid and kind of jiggle it from side to side? Mine seems to have some play and I'm wondering if this is normal or if I have a faulty unit.

When your alarm goes off, does it go off through the sleepbuds or the phone itself?

If you have a metal allergy DO NOT buy these. The contacts are made of cheap metal that will cause an allergic reaction as the contacts are in constant contact with the skin of your ear. The contacts are also corroding very badly on mine, they no longer charge.

From the conversation I had with a Bose rep on WhatsApp I don’t think I’m the only one having problems either.

I've also had my Bose Sleepbuds II for a week but I've had a somewhat different experience. I can hear faint audio anomalies in nearly all of the sounds, and because the audio loops are so short, these anomalies happen every few seconds. So far all of the sounds I have tried have these glitches.

Good review. I returned mine due to comfort. If they were $99 I would keep them.

How often do you charge the electricity?

I'm considering these to help drown out the noise of my family. I work swing shift and have to sleep during the day while they are coming home in the afternoon. I also am asleep in the mornings sometimes while they are getting ready to leave for the day.
