Just a short video on a tip to help YOU find the best drag factor for erging. Listen and have a go with what I suggest and see if you can find something that works for you. 👍🏼

Interesting video. I am 77 yrs old and have been back on the erg for about 3 months. In my early 60s I did indoor racing to quite a high level and my coach put me on 130 drag which suited me . I now row on 100 drag which I find ok. Today I put the drag up to 120 for a high intensity piece. Could not get the splits I was getting at 100. Changed back to 100 and got one stroke at my best split since I started back. That was a 1min 40 sec split. Working to get under 1.40. Fighting old age but still relish the the challenge and reward for sweat and effort. Enjoy your video's, you are a legend. Coming from a Brit, that is a he'll of a compliment Eric.

Eric, THANKS for these super videos. Keep them coming. I have cleaned off the dust on my Concept2 and have now rowed FIVE days in a row. Thanks for explaining everything, I need that.

You probably won't see this because i'm now in 2020 and you haven't uploaded in a while. But could you do a vid on injuries from rowing, and how to prevent them.
Great videos though!

I have started a couple months ago rowing on the erg. Loving it as a good workout. I just set the Drag Factor to 110 and dont focus on it. when i want more intensity I just increase the pace. Maybe i should play more with the drag but im not tall nor strong so it just suits me well.

Great video. A question on Drag Factors during competition as apposed to training. Should we increase the DF when competing or use the same as when training normally? Would an increase in DF only be needed when competing at shorter distances (500m or less)?

Hi Eric, great video as always. This video will make sense for rowers and non-rowers people. What I can suggest is to make a video and explain the rowing technique. I as been a rower can understand all you saying, but for someone whose never been properly introduced to rowing technique will benefit from it. Keep the great work mate 😀

Our (old) coach used to say use 125 in the summer and 135 in the winter. Suggesting that it was close to how the water feels on the river. Not sure if that's the case, or not?

Hi Eric, Enjoying your videos. Very informative. Question about drag factor. Did you guys train with the same drag factor? Like at camps or national stuff. I come from a small, fixed seat, coastal gig club on the south of the uk. Our club has said we have to train at 120. Is this a good idea? Your video suggests drag is unique to the person. Cheers.
