“Just cause you are working a 9to5 and playing music does not mean that you aren’t a musician or you aren’t a career musician or anything like that”

God knows how much I needed to hear that

Thank you so much for saying this 🙏🏻

One of my favorite guitarists. His baritone stuff hits just right.

Marks solo on “Easy Lover” the the Martin miller band is one of the best guitar solos in 10 years, it absolutely rips!

Playing unplugged really resonated - it allows you to practice without disturbing the household, and also de-ritualises playing to a degree, which can definitely be a good thing.

Mark has very quickly become my favourite guitarist. If a benchmark of achievement for a guitarist is to develop a unique recognisable style, then Mark has absolutely excelled at that.

Ive been really struggling trying to catch myself emotionally when it comes to playing and practicing. Seeing the attitudes of these players in these interviews has helped me a lot. What awesome people.

People sleep on Mark and to this day I can’t understand why. This guy is one of the greatest doing it out there right now. Such a cool person too!

Man is Mark having a moment right now or what? I feel like he's been hitting his stride in a big way lately, or maybe I'm also just lucky enough to have caught him twice in DC in the last few weeks, both on his own in a really nice intimate venue, and then followed by the tour with Cory, and now a pleasant surprise to see him here! He's easily one of my favorite players, and he's really fabulous at not only commanding attention, but also carrying other musicians by elevating in the background in just the right ways, the 4th jam section in this is a shining example. I was lucky and got a few chances to talk with him over the years, and he could not be any nicer of a person, so if anyone is just finding their way to his music for the first time, please take the time to appreciate the sheer volume of amazing music Mark has been making over the years.

I've really been enjoying these. Probably my favorite content from you, honestly. Just chill vibes, wonderful insights, and great playing. I really hope you continue doing these, and I hope they have legs view wise. I'd love to see more of the artists you've done Podcasts with in the past come on and meet in person with the same format. It helps so much that your such an amazing player in your own right; I don't think many people would be able to keep up with all of these legends (kind of just gotta be a legend yourself).

Marks musical vocabulary is effing impressive! Well orchestrated episode, Tyler. I’d find it so scary trying to play along with Mark. You did a great job 👏

I had the pleasure to meet Mark at a PRS event at Five Star Guitars a couple years ago. He was wonderfully nice in person, very down to earth and super chill to talk to. It's so great when your guitar heroes are fantastic people on top of being fantastic players.

Mark should be on Rolling Stone's 250 greatest guitarists list... he is criminally underrecognized. It was an honor to shake his hand in January in Utrecht, NL.
