Congressman, with all due respect, most higher caliber rifles including for hunting will pierce a lot of body armor (perhaps not all). Most bullet proof vests aren't rated for higher than shotguns and handguns. Some body armor is rated for rifles, but guess what, for sporting rifles such as AR-15's and AK-47's, not for let's a .300 win mag (hunting rifle). So ironically, people assume it's the AR's and AK's, when a lot of body armor to my understanding CAN stop those, but not the hunting rifles everyone ignores.
