You don't have to be using 2 handed stance to be able to use the weapon art while using a shield. Just equip a shield with the no skill ash of war and it will default to your main hand one.

Another good spear to mention is the cros guard naginata, located at gael tunnel, is great because it goes well with dex and has a unique slashing move set for spear, and can be upgraded with ashes of war so is very flexible

I'd rate claymans harpoon higher because you can put ashes on it, one of the few magic scaling weapons you can do this to, not to mention you can get it relatively early in the game.

In my opinion the best spears are the ones that have a sweeping heavy attack. More specifically I really love the Partizan, I don’t know how it’s damage numbers stack up to some of the other choices but it’s all physical and totally customizable with ash of wars, plus it looks sexy as hell. But the sweeping R2’s really make it more viable as a main weapon option to me.

Im using a strength int build, and I like a cold harpoon with the ice spear ash of war to apply frostbite from range, then resetting the meter with redmane fire pots(which get A strength scaling), and repeat.
I also have a second one with sword dance and heavy affinity to buff and dual wield with.

The only thing that bums me out about this game is the possibility of locking yourself out of sidequests/loot. I will definitely be doing a new game plus to get that last spear mentioned in the video. Still working my way through the first playthrough but have locked myself out of the original capital zone :/

I love the claymans harpoon. It is my go to spear. I either pair it with a small round shield, or dual wield for maximum stabage.

Actually the Death Ritual Spear, if you thrust it at someone’s head in real life, they don’t have to just dodge the initial tip by bending their neck / head out of the way, they need to move their whole body. I love it it looks amazing and i can see it being effective. The tip thrusted into a body, 3 prongs, is enough to do the job as well.

My favorite spear is the pike. nothing particular on its own, but it has the longest reach from all spears in the game, even beyond Gransax. Combine that with piercing fang, you can break through any shield easily and harass enemies with more reach. Also spectral lance ash of war is good at breaking stance of bigger bosses like astel, elden beast and even dragons.

Try the spiked spear with Spectral Lance! Way better long-range weapon than most

The best Spear or spears is the cross-naginata and the spiked spear with a ice spear ash of war. Doesn't matter that other spears have better scaling. These two will do more damage. Since Bleed and Ice procs will far exceed any sort of physical damage. Also ice spear has decent range that can proc forstbite. The animation is a lot quicker than Gransax. Also you can spec intelligence which means you can use spells if you prefer in certain situations.

You can go in with 2 spears and proc, bleed and frost, or keep medium distance with ice spear, or large distance and cast spells. With 60 int you can cast Comet Azur.

Its funny that you have the all knowing armor in your spear video. My greek hoplite build is that armor, the heavy golden shield, and a good spear.

Can you please show the two handed move sets please. I noticed that you only show the one handed move sets for the weapons. Maybe in your later videos you could equip two handed and show those moves sets.
