It must have broke Gary's heart when Phil died. You don't often have friends like this. Where you're like musical soulmates. Phil and Gary were like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Just perfect.

I saw Lizzy at a small club in Lowell, Ma. back in the early 80's. I was standing about 15 feet from the band. It was absolutely incredible...

I remember hearing Gary playing in his bedroom in East Belfast.

I remember seeing Thin Lizzie for the first time at a college gig. They were a support band back then. And top of the bill? Ralph McTell. Nobody had heard of Thin Lizzie in those days but we went away mightily impressed. I was a teenager at the time, I'll be 70 this year. Where has the time gone?

Phil was no ego, he was just there to enjoy his friend and have fun whit no bumps or ego, he just wanted enjoy and did. thats why he was a legend he was the most humble dude of his time along the legendary Rory Gallegher. both was no ego....

Phil and Gary had a ton of respect for each other but they were both leaders who needed to be captains of their own individual ships. Phil said that he regarded Gary as being the best guitarist in the world .
