Another in my series why this watch. A completely self indulgent and entirely subjective discussion about why I have this particular watch.

I often forget wristchecks so if you want to see what I'm wearing, my collection and other random bits of my life check out my instagram:

Hi Pete good choice and the reasoning even better. Always buy whatever speaks to you .👍🏻

Fortis is one of the underrated brands. I like most of their chronographs. Fortis announced a new model for Thursday August 13.
The dial design of your GMT B-type flieger is great. I like how they handled the minute, hours and 24hours index.
Does it bother you, that Fortis did not increase the length of the hour hand ?
It still points to position inside the inner ring. On most B-Type flieger models, this would be correct position for the hour index. But in this watch, the hour hand points to the 24hour index and the GMT hand points nearly to the hour index.

You got the Fortis Flieger GMT because you have taste. Just lovely.

Gorgeous piece. I have a hard time with exact copies of fliegers, because I don't want something that's a copy of something used by hundreds of nazis. I like when companies change the recipe and make it theirs. This is a wonderful twist on a B-Uhr. Great pick!

Peter that was such a well constructed video. Well done indeed mate. From the opening shots through to the video and stills. Well constructed - I especially liked the cassette shot (Robbie McEwan/Cadel Evans homage?) .The narrative was equally compelling and allowed the imagination to work around the functional and engineering theme. Excellent all round.

The one watch I miss that I have sold over the past 10 years is the FORTIS B-42 (3 hander). Amazing quality. My only problem was its lug2lug length was over 51mm, even though it was only 42mm in diameter. The bezel action was Rolex/Tudor quality, the case finishing reminded me of my IWC pilot chrono, and the bracelet was solid with screwed links. Also, the legibility was great; except at night the lume was average.

Another great video Pete. Not a watch I have really looked at before but will now. Love the legibility 👍

Fair reasons for owning it. I'd forgotten about Fortis, gonna have a look and see if anything grabs me

Looks like it means business. GMT for me is the most useful complication used in real life. I’m a bit of a military / aviation buff and sucker for real heritage brands not resurrected or owned by big names (although technically they have a new owner). This watch managed to tick off all of the above. Lovely

Speak for yourself!!! My Fortis Flieger GMT went to work with me in the RC-135W, T-45C, B737-600 and currently in the B747-400/800 and LCF!

Guinand watches, the one Helmut Sinn made after he had sold the Sinn company. Same no non sense flieger vibe.
