Bill Belichick will end up on the shortest of short lists for best NFL coaches of all time – if not standing alone atop the Mount Rushmore that Vince Lombardi built, as the single best head coach to ever do it!

But even the all time greats have blemishes on their resumes… And the legendary Bill Belichick, despite being seemingly invincible, is not immune to such foibles.

For Bill, it will always go back to some of the—erhm—let’s say questionable decisions that he made leading up to, and during, Super Bowl 52.

Today we present, Did Bill Belichick Completely SABOTAGE His Own SUPER BOWL?

Bill's decision during the Superbowl still pisses me off until this day. Rowe was terrible.

I think everyone can agree that the melcom butler stop was UNCALLED for

Fun fact: Belichick as a head coach with Brady is 232-72. Belichick as a head coach without Brady is 48-64.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s on zoom calls with Spagnuolo discussing how to stop the Bucs offense

I mean Brady did throw for 505 and 3 touchdowns... Benching butler is extremely sus, and belichick was mad at Kraft for forcing jimmy g out and keeping Brady... belichick is good at holding grudges so I think it’s possible... I didn’t see Brady firing his team up the entire game, he avoided belichick... there definitely was tension, possibly enough for belichick to throw the game

Not to take anything away from the Philadelphia Eagles that year, but I really think that Bill Belichick sabotaged that Super Bowl Malcolm Butler definitely should’ve played

Any given game just before the last drive Brady, belichick and the quarterback coach are huddled together devising a scheme. Super bowl against the eagles thier was no huddle just Brady by himself . That says more than a thousand words could say

Chuck Noll is not on the list of best coaches? I guess four honest super bowls doesn't hold much water...

After hearing the rumors and rewatching the game, Bill definitely wasn’t his normal self and it looked like he didn’t give a crap if they won or not. Normally he is super fired up and in the refs face. This time I don’t think he wanted to win. I think it was a horrible look for him, kinda like a toddler throwing a fit because he didn’t get his own way. I think part of it was that Kraft loves Brady and Brady could and did go over Bill’s head on occasion. So this was his way of letting Brady and the team know they couldn’t do it without him.

The answer for not playing Malcom Butler is easy....Bill played former Eagle Eric Rowe over Butler thinking the former Eagle would be able to lead the Dbacks on all of Philly's offensive backfired!

I still can’t believe that the Pats lost to the Eagles.

I think he wanted to get cam newton on a cheap deal so that way he can have a losing season and draft a franchise qb

So if Malcom Butler was good enough to play 97% of all snaps during the season AND playoffs up until the SuperBowl, how was he not good enough to play in thw Biggest game. And why let him know during the national anthem. And then the Patriots give up the most points in there playoff history without him.And Belichick called that a Business Decision and what was "Best for the team" That was 1, 000, 000% B.S.
He did it to spite Tom Brady and I dont know how he got to keep his head coaching job.
