Your reviews are always so thoughtful and specific. I have now added five new books to my wishlist.

Oh happily ever afters sounds like one of those books that has all the promise and then doesn't deliver! I really LOVED Eve Brown but I read it so slowly because I just didn't want to leave the brown sisters!

I keep forgetting February is over and not just starting. Look forward to getting to Amari this month if I can fit it in!

Kaaay, I love how indepth you get in the synopsis alone, and add trigger warnings. So many great reads this short month. (I loved Amari and the Night Brothers and need the second book soon 🥲)

Fledgling is such an interesting book and I loved it, though it seems to be very controversial. I can't wait to read Amari! My patreon group is reading it in May.

I also loved From the Desk of Zoe Washington! I'm excited to read more from Janae Marks in the future.

I definitely had a *what do you mean it is March already* flail yesterday, so I feel you.

Octavia Butler is so good. I have to brace myself before reading every time because it's always such a wild, scary ride. I think I still have bruises from Parable of the Sower.

I'm so looking forward to Eve Brown!! I have been reading Talia Hibbert's Ravenswood series in the meantime and really enjoying it too (although it's not as lighthearted as the Brown sisters series). Redemption in Indigo was such fun! And I'm definitely adding From the Desk of Zoe Washington to my TBR - that sounds amazing.

Enjoyed the video. The court room drama was my favorite part of Fledgling.

I have a very, very strong feeling Act Your Age, Eve Brown will be my favourite book in the trilogy. I didn't know that it had so much autism rep which makes me really happy as both my dad and sister are on the spectrum. I need some positive representation of autism without it being the centre plot. I can't wait to pick this up!

This was a fascinating review of Fledgling. Very unlike many that I have seen. I read the book many years ago and really enjoyed it but your notes make me want to reread it. Thanks!

is there anything more disappointing than ✨missed opportunities✨?
yesss i felt the same with redemption in indigo. the beginning made me wary, but once we were just with paama and the indigo lord i was in love. i did some googling though and from what i can tell, it seems like a lot of the fatphobia is embedded in the source story, ansige karamba the glutton. it still doesn't make it fun to read, but there is there is a context for it at least.
i'm so glad you're loving it.
